Shock bushings and associated mount kit parts are designed to wear and to prevent damage to more expensive parts of your shock (shaft/body eyelet). They are easy to replace, especially if you invest (£20) in a bush fitting tool (see how to use RSP Bush Tool) to help you maintain a smooth, clunk-free ride. Some bikes, whose shock is mounted directly in the 'mud path' from the rear wheel, will need a new bushing or even a complete mount kit every couple of months.

As the bushing/mount kit attached to the swing arm or linkage is subject to more rotation and mud, it usually wears 4 to 5 times faster than the main frame mount. This is why we supply separate mount kits for each end of the shock. You can replace just the mount that is worn.

We can supply heavy-duty mount kits in any sizes (up to M8x80 and M6x68) to suit all makes of shocks and bikes. We know the sizes required for many of the common bikes but it's always a good idea to measure your bike to confirm the size we have is correct when ordering. Please note we do not supply bolts.

We no longer supply standard top-hat reducer-type mount kits although we still fit them, when necessary, during shock services.

Eyelet Bushings

We recommend polymer eyelet bushings for heavy-duty mount kits as they resist deterioration under cleaning with chemicals (e.g. Muc-Off), and they last longer. However, we also supply metal bushings if you prefer - please specify when ordering.
