About Us

TF Tuned Shox started in January 2002 with a vision to provide surprisingly good customer service, as well as in-depth suspension expertise. It's now the best-known suspension workshop in the industry, receiving forks and shocks every day from customers in the UK and around the world.

TF Tuned was acquired by TecFrontiers Ltd on 31st March 2009. TecFrontiers Ltd was formed specifically to help take TF Tuned through its next phase of growth and to make more people aware of its excellence in the field of mountain bike suspension.

Meet the TF team

Tim

The TF in our name, and founder of the business. Tim was Mr RockShox on the international World Cup for many years, fettling forks and shocks for Steve Peat, Nicolas Vouilloz, the Athertons, Sabrina Jonnier, Sam Hill, etc.etc. (you get the drift). Now, we put him in the corner and he grumps and growls when he can't get a fork as lush as he wants it. Despite being Very Old, he still rides quite a bit and his fave event is the Roc d'Azur where he freaks out the locals on his single-speed (back in the old days he was once National Champ). Oh yes, and he loves beer. He really loves beer.

Helen

Helen is Tim's wife, and her strengths lie mainly outside mountain-biking (don't ask her anything technical). She's got the desk with the view and does all the accounts stuff, as well as booking your jobs in and helping Caroline when the invoicing goes bonkers. When French people ring, Helen gets the call as she speaks it well ... and likes the accent. She even translates stuff for BOS - we think she's angling after a trip to Toulouse.

Neil

Neil is a marketing man's dream (ahem) and won't rest until he's got the latest gadget in the latest colour. He spent so much on bike stuff last year he was almost our top customer. In his imagination, he's a top downhiller, but the reality is that all he's roosting lately is tarmac. Having said all this, he's brilliant with suspension .. which is good, really.

James

James is qualified in quantum physics, so we agree with everything he says. Which is sometimes tricky as he's so softly-spoken we can't hear what he's on about half the time. Probably split atoms or summat. He's into DH, BMX and XC ... hell, everything. James has taken a liking to the local cider which could jeopardise his evening rides as his steering isn't the best (we promised not to mention the crash again).

Dave

Dave's been hanging around here almost since the beginning, tweaking them shocks. He's at his happiest PUSH-ing a Fox (which he does beautifully) and, a bike tech for over 15 years, he sleeps with a spanner in his hand. It's been noted that he spends more time fettling than he does riding. His taste in music is definitely questionable (metal/rock) and as for food ... no raisins, no cold custard even in doughnuts, no banana-related foodstuffs except actual bananas. Dave also has a fetish for sheds (don't ask) and storage devices. Hm.

Caroline

Caroline is a chemical engineer, but that's no fun, so prefers invoicing, packing, cracking a whip and ordering in parts for TF. As well as being a whiz with the tape gun she's also pretty handy on a bike, being an ex national DH champion and doing more actual mountain-biking than the rest of the team. Keep chocolate and cider away if you don't want them disappearing or Caroline ending up in a hedge.

Paul

Born in a bike workshop, Paul has a torque wrench for a wrist and Allen keys for fingers. All this is cleverly disguised by some awesome artwork as you can see. Paul is remarkably fast on a bike and leaves the rest of us standing on the pub ride, so we're increasing his cake intake just to even things up a bit.
